1. Who we are and what this covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Dermatología Texas (“we,” “us,” or “our”), the Spanish-language dermatology service of Texas Skin Center (operated by EpiDermatology, PLLC), collects, uses, shares and protects information when you visit dermatologiatexas.com (the “Site”), contact us through the Site, or receive text messages from us.
Health information that we hold about you as your healthcare provider is protected by HIPAA and is described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, available at our offices on request. This policy covers information collected through the Site and through our text messaging program.
2. Information we collect
- Information you give us. Your name, email address, phone number (optional), preferred office and the message you write when you use our contact form. Please do not put private medical details in the form.
- Mobile number and text-message consent. If you opt in to receive text messages, we collect your mobile number and keep a record of your consent: when and how you gave it, the messages we send and receive, delivery status, and any opt-out.
- Technical information. Standard server log data such as IP address, browser and device type, pages requested and timestamps, plus spam- and security-protection signals processed by Cloudflare (including Cloudflare Turnstile on our contact form).
The Site does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies.
3. How we use information
- To answer your questions and requests.
- To schedule, confirm and remind you of appointments, and to coordinate your care and account (for example, by text, phone or email).
- To send text messages you have agreed to receive, and to keep records of your consent.
- To operate, secure and improve the Site, and to prevent spam, fraud and abuse.
- To meet legal, regulatory and recordkeeping obligations.
4. Text messaging and mobile information
We send text messages only to people who have opted in. Program details, message types, frequency and opt-out instructions are in our Terms & Conditions.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
We share your mobile number only with the service providers that help us deliver messages (our messaging platform and the wireless carriers), solely to operate the program on our behalf. They are not permitted to use it for their own marketing.
You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. We share information only:
- with service providers that host or protect the Site, deliver email and text messages, and provide online scheduling (for example, Cloudflare and Klara), under obligations to use it only for our purposes;
- as permitted or required by law, including HIPAA for treatment, payment and healthcare operations, or to respond to legal process;
- to protect the rights, safety and security of our patients, staff and Site.
6. Third-party services and links
Online scheduling is provided by Klara and opens on their site, where their terms and privacy policy apply. The Site also links to texasskincenter.com and other sites we do not control; their policies govern what they collect.
7. Retention
We keep contact-form messages as long as needed to respond and for our business and legal records. Text-message consent records are kept for the period required by law. Medical records are kept under applicable federal and Texas requirements.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. No system is completely secure. Text messages are not encrypted, so we keep them brief and limited; please do not reply to a text with sensitive health details — call us instead.
9. Your choices and rights
- Text messages: reply STOP to opt out at any time; reply HELP for help.
- Your information: you may ask us to access, correct or delete information collected through the Site, subject to law and our medical-record obligations.
- Email: tell us if you do not want to receive email from us.

10. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information through the Site. Parents and guardians may contact us about a minor’s information.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The effective date above shows the latest version. If a change is material, we will post a notice on the Site.
